How is the engine of the Outboard Motor constructed

Jul 10, 2023|

Outboard Motor's engine adopts an internal combustion engine structure and consists of several main parts, including the following:

1. Cylinder block: It is equipped with some accessories inside, such as pistons, connecting rods, crankshafts, etc. The cylinder block is made of aluminum or magnesium alloy to improve weight reduction and reduce vibration and noise.

2. Valves and fuel system: Valves control the flow of fuel and air to combustion. Fuel systems typically include accessories such as an oil pump, an injector, and a tank.

3. Drive system: The power conversion of the engine is provided by the crankshaft, which transmits power to the propeller through the camshaft, connecting rod and other parts.

4. Electrical system: Boat engines are usually equipped with electronic ignition and charging systems, of which the ignition system is used for the ignition voltage at the time of ignition, and the charging system is used to generate electricity to ensure the state of charge of the battery.

5. Lubrication system: This part is mainly responsible for the lubrication work of the engine to protect all moving parts. It mainly includes oil pump, oil tank, filter and lubrication line.

The above is the engine structure of Outboard Motor, each part is very important, all to ensure the normal operation of the engine, but also to optimize the performance of the entire boat engine.
