Inspection of outboard motor before starting, during operation and after rotation
Mar 18, 2023| 1. Before the outboard motor is installed and ready to start, the following inspections should be carried out on the outboard motor:
① The amount of lubricating oil in the underwater transmission.
② Gasoline for running-in—the mixture of engine oil and the connection and installation of fuel pipeline and fuel tank.
③ The fastening of the outboard motor on the transom and the watertightness of the bolt holes in the underwater part.
④ Check whether the steering link and fasteners are connected reliably. Steer the rudder left and right several times to check whether it is convenient to steer, repeat shifting and adding or subtracting the throttle, check whether the shift is in place, whether the remote control handle and the engine carburetor are synchronized, check the idle position of the carburetor and whether the throttle is fully open.
⑥ Check whether the steering wheel steering of the rudder equipment is consistent with the steering of the ship.
⑦ Check whether the battery is fully charged, and it is fixed reliably; the connection of battery cables, the laying of various lines and the installation of instruments.
⑧ Check the working condition of the manual or hydraulic lifting device.
⑨ If it is an automatic lubricating oil mixing system, fill the lubricating oil tank with oil, and drain the air in the lubricating oil injection system.
⑩ Check the lubricating oil low level and engine high temperature alarm system. lv Check the correct selection and installation of the propeller.
2. Inspection of the outboard motor starting, running and after running:
① Check whether the safety interlock device for empty car starting is effective, which ensures that the engine cannot be started when the engine is in gear.
② Check the reliability of manual and electric control chokes.
③ Check the water outlet of the drainage display hole during operation.
④ Check the working conditions of the tachometer, lift meter and other instruments.
⑤ Check the setting of idle fuel and air mixture ratio screws.
⑥ Check the idle speed and the setting of the idle speed screw and adjust the engine to the idle speed required by the manual.
⑦ Steer full rudder left and right and check whether the control system of throttle and shifting mechanism is light, suitable and reliable.
⑧ Check the reliability of the outboard motor reversing and the reversing locking hook that is tilted up to prevent the outboard motor from reversing.
⑨ Check the reliability of shallow water navigation and power trim control mechanism.
⑩ Check whether there is rudder deviation when sailing, and adjust the position of the course balance adjustment plate if necessary.
